The audio-visual content is now being created for multiple delivery mediums such as Traditional Digital TV, DTH, IPTV, Mobile TV, VOD, Digital Cinema and Blu-ray/DVD. Each of these has its own set of unique requirements on the content format, structure and quality. Automating the verification of content format, structure and quality is an important requirement given the diversity and volume of the content processed each day.

Pulsar Pulsar is a file-based automated content verifier system designed for use by Broadcasters, Content Providers and Service Providers. Pulsar can be used to seamlessly automate content QC at various stages in the workflow such as Ingest, archive and playout. It performs content conformance and quality analysis along with range of custom checks defined by the user. Pulsar is a high performance system allowing many hours of broadcast content analysis per hour. It offers most comprehensive set of automation capabilities allowing significant improvement in operational efficiency while ensuring consistent content quality at different stages in the workflow.

Pulsar now includes the “Rapid” option.  This provides an extremely quick verification based on limited testing, and sorts the files into multiple output folders, against configurable parameters.

Pulsar runs as a web-service and can be easily integrated with third-party automation systems or your own workflow. A comprehensive API programming document is available on request.

Pulsar is supplied as software, for you to install onto your own PC, running Microsoft Windows. We are happy to help with the installation of Pulsar, and this document explains about the recommended PC specifications. Of course the best test is to evaluate the software yourself. If this is of interest, please contact us. Where possible we like to visit our customers, and we will install the evaluation software onto your own PC, and help with the initial configuration.

SSVC, which is the charity behind broadcasting to the UK armed forces whilst posted overseas, are one of the first users of Pulsar, and are still extremely happy with their choice.  Click here to read about how they are using Pulsar.
